Ideas and Resources for Your Congregation or School:

Raise awareness and pray for people impacted by human trafficking by dedicating at least one worship service, school chapel, bible study, or small group session to the issue. For added significance, schedule your activity in conjunction with one of these commemorative days of the Church or international days of observance.

December 2: International Day for the Abolition of Slavery
December 6: Nicholas of Myra
January 11: National Trafficking Awareness Day
February 15: Philemon and Onesimus Day in church calendar
June 12: World Day Against Child Labor
August 23: International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and Its Abolition

 

Bible Study:

Designed to build on general awareness of trafficking in the news, “Resolved: A Bible Study on Ending Human Trafficking” provides space to discuss what Scripture says about slavery and to reflect on prayerful action. Allow approximately 60 minutes. Leader’s Guide provides facilitation helps.
