Dear Friend,

It was a great privilege for me to recently lead a delegation to the White House to discuss the urgent need to fight human trafficking in the U.S. and around the world. The highlight was being able to present the first batch of 725 petitions to representatives of the White House – petitions you helped make possible. While only a few of us could be present at the meeting, I felt like all our supporters were standing right beside me!

It’s empowering to work together with passionate supporters like you, and it’s exciting to see progress being made and lives being changed. So thank you so much for your continued commitment to LIRS and the refugees and migrants we serve!

We’ve already had the opportunity to assist thousands of refugees and migrants in the first quarter of 2013 thanks to your support. And we will keep pressing on to make sure even more people receive our help in the coming months.

We know there will continue to be wars, hardships, and troubles for millions of people around the world. So let’s make sure we don’t lose strength, but rather, keep in mind the words of Romans 12:11, and “Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.”

I’d particularly like to thank you for supporting our ongoing Summer Children’s Campaign. This campaign, which runs through August, ensures that LIRS will be able to fully serve the estimated 1,500 refugee and migrant children who will require help this summer. So I’d like to encourage you to continue giving to the Summer Children’s Campaign using the envelopes we recently sent you.

Thank you for being a friend to those in need through your gifts, and please continue to pray for LIRS as we serve these people of immense worth.

Yours in faith,
Linda Hartke
