Dear Friend,

My warmest thanks go out to compassionate and generous friends like you who have supported the work of LIRS during the first two months of our Summer Children’s Campaign. We have made significant strides in our goal to reach a $111,750 goal so we can immediately reach out to 1,500 children with lifesaving help and life-changing hope

Much remains to be done in the final stretch of the campaign, however, and it will take all of us to save more children from brutal violence and suffocating poverty.

And of course, saving them is just the start. LIRS is committed to saving and changing lives.

We advocate for children when they arrive in the United States, ensuring they receive the compassion and care they should have.

We reunite families, by locating a child’s extended family members who are already living in our country.

We find them loving homes through specialized foster care services. And we make sure that children receive the services and support necessary to adapt to a new country, a new culture … and a new home.

Together we are creating communities of welcome where newcomers can survive and thrive.

As Psalm 82:3-4 says, we must “give justice to the weak and the orphan; maintain the right of the lowly and the destitute. Rescue the weak and the needy … ” Thank you for your partnership to fulfill this calling!

Yours in faith,

Linda Hartke
