JeanMarie200Jean-Marie was only 9 years old when he was abducted and forcefully recruited into the army to serve as an informant. After power changed hands in his home country of Burundi, the government intelligence agency killed his parents and siblings. Jean-Marie fled to Kenya, but lives every day in fear that Burundi intelligence will track him down.

Our Summer Children’s Campaign exists for the sake of girls and boys, like Jean-Marie, who are torn from their homes, orphaned, and persecuted. The goal for this campaign is to hit a $111,750 target so we can immediately reach out to 1,500 children with real help and real hope.

Summer can be a lean time for LIRS, when many of our supporters are away on vacation. But children like Jean-Marie get no vacation from the fear and pain of their lives.

That’s why generous friends have offered a $5,000 challenge grant to encourage others to help us reach our goal . . . and reach as many hurting children as we can this summer.

This means the impact of every gift we receive will effectively be doubled! What a blessing for children living in dangerous and chaotic situations.

Thank you for your partnership with LIRS that is filling the lives of our world’s hurting children with hope, security, and real opportunities to excel and dream bigger than they ever imagined! To contribute to the Summer Campaign, click here.
