Assistance for Refugees

If you are a refugee in the United States in need of assistance, please reach out to your local refugee resettlement partner office.

Assistance for Asylum Seekers

If you are an asylum seeker in the United States in need of assistance, please find the nearest Global Refuge Welcome Center.

If there is not an office nearby, we encourage you to browse resources available through the Asylum Seeker Advocacy Project.

Assistance for Those in the U.S. Via Humanitarian Parole

If you are in the United States via humanitarian parole, you may be eligible for assistance at an Global Refuge Welcome Center.

If you are an Afghan, Cuban, Haitian, or Ukrainian national, you may be eligible for additional services through the USRAP. Please reach out to your local refugee resettlement partner office.

Assistance for Immigrants

If you have lived in the United States for a period and are interested in economic or career development, we encourage you to learn more about our New American Cities, New American Community Lending, and New American Careers programs.

Immigration Legal Services

If you require immigration legal services, reach out to a local immigration service provider. Immigration services might include assistance applying for citizenship, asylum, green card, or family reunification. Find a local service provider.

A Note for Those Seeking Safety from Abroad

Unfortunately, Global Refuge is unable to be of direct assistance to those seeking safety who have not yet arrived in the United States.

Unless you have someone in the U.S. who is eligible to file a family reunification petition on your behalf, the only way to qualify for the United States Refugee Assistance Program is through a referral from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), or in rare instances a non-governmental agency (NGO) or US Embassy. Find contact information for your nearest UNHCR office.
